MF ARYAN EL THESSA

By Philippe Ascaso

Born in May 2003, MF Aryan El Thessa was bred in Germany by Dr Kirschner, who had imported a few mares and a stallion from the USA and Brazil. With the help of Mr Ferdinand Huemer, owner of La Movida Arabians, and close friend to the world renowned Mrs Lenita Perroy, he purchased great Ali Jamaal related horses.

From Haras Meia Lua in Brazil two outstanding fillies arrived in Germany, Nyagara El Jamaal (now owned by Al Khalediah Farm / Saudi Arabia) and Thessalya El Jamaal, Aryan’s dam.

His sire, JD Chalice, arrived from the USA. He is a beautiful son of Ludjin El Jamaal’s out of WCP Chances Are’s daughter. A typical Bey Shah / Ali Jamaal cross.

Aryan is one of the 1st foals bred from JD Chalice, and certainly the best son of JD Chalice’s.

From an early age, everyone saw the potential of this grey colt. He then left very soon to Specifically Equine and was successfully shown by Mr Scott Allman and Miss Mary Lang as a yearling colt and a 2 year old colt.

His show record includes:

Reserve Yearling colt champion in Menton 2004 – A show… one of the best shows in Europe

Reserve yearling colt champion in Wels 2004 / Austria A show, just behind world phenomenon Ajman Moniscione.

Top 5 junior male Championship Wels 2004

2 year old colt Champion Mooslargue, B show

The story started as I was looking for a really special mare to purchase. I had been looking almost everywhere to find one… While I was visiting Mooslargue B international show in France I happened to walk near a stable and there I saw this grey colt that wouldn’t pay any attention to me. I quickly saw his eyes and deeply fell into them!

Though I didn’t want to purchase a colt, I could see a huge potential in that one… I then asked if he was available for purchase and started the transaction.

A few hours later he came back from the ring with ribbons and I knew his price would be high!

I quickly looked at his pedigree and saw a real genetic treasure. Inbred on Ali Jamaal, a grandson of Ludjin El Jamaal’s - who is for me the best Ali Jamaal son ever. Aryan is Ludjin’s look-alike, and with his extremely typey face, he is the typiest horse from the Ali Jamaal line I have ever seen.

The venture started in August 2005 when Aryan arrived at the farm. After a few months he became my best friend: I discovered an extremely clever and intelligent horse, very protective to other horses… a real stallion. And years have made him even more beautiful…

I took us time to promote him as we have had trouble registering him in France as his file had been lost, and it finally took us 2 years to have him registered and able to be shown or breed.

Then willing to promote him, I shot an amateur video and shared it on YouTube… That’s when everything started… some breeders in the US saw that poor-quality video and decided to visit our farm. Then Aryan’s career exploded… Markelle Arabians / USA, breeders of World Champion Marajj, decided to help me promoting him in the US. Then his first 4 foals were born: only 4 foals but 4 incredible babies…. And then without any advertising or shows… breeding demands came from everywhere.

His second foal crop set the standard even higher and breedings have been sold worldwide in Europe, USA, Brazil, Australia and the Middle East.

I was really pleased to deal with famous Australian trainer Paul Hedges. Aryan’s career is now at a turning point… With Paul’s help, frozen semen will be available at the end of 2010 in Australia.

I would really like to thank all Australian breeders that have already booked their incredible mares to Aryan, and among them, many famous names… This is so exciting!

Aryan is truly becoming a world phenomenon; he is to leave Europe in 2011 and will be managed by Mr Michael Byatt in the USA.
